Janet has over 24 years experience as an Assistant Headteacher, English Subject Lead and a Leading teacher as part of the National Strategy. She is a freelance English and Literacy consultant who specialises in supporting teachers with the teaching of grammar, punctuation and spelling, and the development of vocabulary and comprehension skills. Janet is an experienced marker of the KS2 GPS test and has considerable experience in test development with the Standards and Testing Agency and their subsidiaries. She is also a Primary English Consultant with the National Association for the Teaching of English, for whom she is the current editor of Primary Matters, the NATE magazine for primary teachers, and the Primary Officer.
