I studied music, theatre and dance, performing and teaching in all areas. An MA in early childhood music laid the foundations for my  commitment to research, study, training and teaching to share the positive impact that music has on early development and children's lives.

Music was extremely supportive in my early deafness, particularly with my speech and general communication. As a practitioner and researcher I try to observe and understand children's interpretation of life from their perspective. It is my belief that babies and young children experience, engage and learn in a truly multi-sensory way. The collaboration of movement, seeing and hearing fascinates me. My practical work incorporates training and musical play. In these, I hope I can share some of the skills I have collated over the years in support of your own research, practice, education and care of babies, young children and those with additional needs.

I am a member of Music Educators and Researchers for Young Children (MERYC) England and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. I co-founded Bush Hall, a British music venue (www.bushhallmusic.co.uk) nurturing new and established artists, and providing a platform for teaching, training and performance for my school and visiting specialists.

I have created several training courses currently being adapted for online access. I play several instruments, write and compose songs and musical tales, and have written a number of music teaching books. I am pro-active in vocalising the importance of music as a right for all children.
